Michael McCord is a principal and managing director and the primary overseeing consultant at the MicroInsurance Centre in Milliman’s Appleton, WI office. He and the MicroInsurance Centre joined Milliman in September 2017.

Katie Biese is Director of Operations for the MicroInsurance Centre at Milliman. She joined the MicroInsurance Centre as a project manager in 2013.

John Caroll joined the MicroInsurance Centre at Milliman in August 2019. Since then, he has worked as a project manager on client projects, including client communications, consultant coordination, project backstopping, research, and implementation support. In 2022, he began supporting consulting activities more actively in microinsurance, including conducting and organizing primary and secondary research, analyzing data, drafting deliverables, and supporting product development and strategy recommendations.

Armelle Otou has a strong background in economics and public policy, having earned both a BA and an MS in these disciplines. Originally from Cameroon, Armelle's interest in microinsurance and risk protection was sparked a decade ago during an internship at the MicroInsurance Centre. As a senior research intern, she leveraged her quantitative skills on projects such as the Landscape of Microinsurance in Africa, which required her to clean, analyze, and synthesize raw data from over 200 countries. Since rejoining MIC@M in 2023, Armelle has significantly expanded her knowledge in microinsurance, traveling to countries, including Comoros, Ghana, and Nigeria to engage with stakeholders and champion microinsurance and risk management for low-income individuals. She is currently leading the development of comprehensive qualitative data analysis guidelines for MIC@M.

Simi Jentry is a junior project manager and researcher with a strong academic foundation in actuarial science and data analytics. She joined the MicroInsurance Centre at Milliman in 2023, following a year of coaching young data professionals of various skill levels and six months of working in the actuarial industry. Since joining, Simi has played a crucial role in conducting valuable research and developing microinsurance solutions aimed at enhancing resilience and mitigating climate-related risks in low-income communities across Asia and Africa. Her role includes backstopping client projects through comprehensive coordination, research, communications, and report writing.
